December 22 – January 19
Element: Earth
Quality: Cardinal
Ruling house: Tenth
Ruling planets: Saturn
Capricorn is the tenth sign of the zodiac. Its ruling planet, Saturn, has a rather gloomy name among astrologers, due to the fact that it has to do a lot with lessons, discipline, restrictions and all that is related to those. Capricorn natives are essentially about structures, patience and cold approach to matters of the life.
Because of the Saturnine energy, their emotional outreach is more often than not feeble, at best, with a very strong need to control and contain whatever may escape the status quo. Although they may be perceived as conservatives, Capricorn natives are indeed very adept to change and transformation, although they choose to do this is in a very, very slow way.
As surprising as it may seem, Capricorns also have one of the best sense of humor across the zodiac, specifically because they take things rather slow and their conclusions come as hammers hitting the nails. Their ability to create and maintain structures (both physical or social) and sustain them over long term is unparalleled across the zodiac, making them very popular in the multi-national companies of our days, those built on very hierarchic structures, as middle or top managers.
Capricorn stubbornness, as opposed to the Taurus stubbornness, is rooted more in experience and personal expertise, rather than just a need to indulge. More often than not living in a spartan way, although they may supervise or control immense amounts of wealth, Capricorns are modest and self-centered. As partners, they are amongst the most reliable, although they may easily become boring and somehow predictable.
Capricorn rules the tenth house of the zodiac.
