In astrology, Moon represents our unconscious behavior or “persona”. It also rules feelings, money and the dominant female figure (with an emphasis on the mother). The Moon is volatile, elusive and uncontrollable. It digs deep down for our emotions and let them emerge uncontrolled.
The Moon is making a complete turn around the Earth in about 28 days, so, its effects are rather volatile. In a natal chart, though, the Moon will have a very important impact on how you interact with the outside world, along with the Sun. As such, the Moon will be responsible for how and what we feel, not the quality of our emotions, but rather about how we express them. Moon will rule how we attract or repel other people on an emotional level. As such, it will play a big role in our intimate, one to one relationships (in both male and female charts).
If well affected in one’s natal chart, Moon will enhance the ability to access our unconscious patterns and our intuition, taping in our psychic reservoir. If badly affected, Moon may be at the core of many psychological afflictions.
In some interpretations, Moon also rules short term memory and our ability to focus. If badly affected, it will drastically shorten one’s attention span, or, if well affected, it will dramatically enhance one’s attention and ability to focus, in some cases being the cause for “photographic memory”.
The Moon will fundamentally affect how you feel, process and express emotions.
