Neptune

In astrology, Neptune represents the deeply romantic attraction and feelings, the higher spiritual dimension, the unconditional love but also disappointment, illusion, fogginess, delusion. Often looked at as being the higher octave of Venus, Neptune is slippery, enchanting, deluding and with a tremendous potential for channeling to the higher spirit.

If Venus is attraction and playfulness, Neptune is loss of identity and reason. Whatever area of the zodiac is covered by Neptune, one must take extra care to bring some reason to it, at least every once in a while. It always starts with an irrepressible attraction towards something or someone, followed by a chain of events that are literally  “pulling” the native into that direction, but it always end up with a lot of disappointment when he or she discovers that he was “deluded”. In reality, nobody was deluded, but Neptune casted a “pink blanket” over the subject of attraction, making it seem irresistibly beautiful.

When badly aspected, Neptune can indicate where addiction (drugs, alcohol) may occur in someone’s chart, especially if Mars or Mercury are involved. When positively aspected, Neptune brings exceptional psychic clarity and clairvoyance. When retrograde, may indicate the use of psychic powers in other lives to abuse others, which may karmically translate in being the subject to the same practice from others in this current life.

Wherever is placed in one’s natal chart, Neptune will bring a state of dreaminess, an unclear picture and a potential to evolve to a higher spiritual level, at a cost of ego dissolution.

Neptune rules the signs of Pisces.
